Today marks our 10th Anniversary in business.
Although not quite celebrating the way we had planned we definitely didn't want to let this milestone pass without mention.
Back in November 2010 we opened with a fundamental desire to provide natural looking aesthetic treatments in a safe clinical environment with patient safety and wellbeing at the forefront. That basic principle has not wavered but continued to grow as the business has expanded. Today we are very proud to be known for our safe and natural treatments in a Care Quality Commission regulated clinic.
Over the years we have moved location several times. Each time moving to larger premises to accommodate our growing patient base. Clinic no 4 where we are located now was by far our biggest challenge.
As much as we loved our Anlaby Road setting, the business expanded far quicker than anticipated in 2017 resulting in the need for a move to larger premises. We knew any move would require a substantial investment to secure Botastics long term future in a medical grade clinic. After lots of number crunching, spread sheets and discussions that went it to the small hours the decision was made and the search began for Botastics forever home.
The first property we found was currently running as a hair salon but would need very little structural work to turn it in to a clinic. It also was already a commercial property. We missed out on this property by a couple of days. Gutted to say the least. However the following week we came across 9 Weeton Way in Anlaby. Although the odds were stacked against us in so many ways, it felt right and we had a good feeling that this was the home that would allow our business to continue to grow.
We did however have two fairly large obstacles to overcome had. We needed planning permission to convert the bungalow to commercial premises. And we didn't yet own the bungalow. The risk was we buy the bungalow and then are not able to obtain planning permission or while we go through the planning process someone else buys the bungalow.
At this point 9 Weeton Way was owned by a lovely couple. On our second viewing we sat down with them and explained the situation and what we wanted to do. The house was taken off the market the following day, allowing us the time to apply for planning permission. We are still to this day grateful that they trusted that we would stick to our word and pending planning permission we would buy the bungalow.
Eventually on Valentine's Day 2018 while on holiday we received confirmation that we had in fact managed to obtain the required planning permission.
We got the keys at the end of March 2018 and had just 5 weeks to turn around a 2 bed room family home into a commercial medical clinic. And thanks to dedicated local tradesmen and help from family we pulled it off. We opened our doors to the 4th (and final) Botastic clinic early May 2018.
However the story does not stop there. In 2019 we converted the one remaining untouched area of the bungalow to 2 more treatment rooms. We also successful achieved CQC registration re confirming our commitment to medical standards and patient safety.
Although 2020 has seen us forced to close for considerable periods of time the business has continued to expand (when open).
The last 10 years has seen us grow and expand far more than we ever imagined. We don't know what the next 10 years will bring but we are ready for it - bring it on!!
